What We Wear to School

It's been 11 months.
11 months of sharing what I wear most days and how I've attempted to step up my game. Lindsey started this mission for me. She challenged herself, held herself accountable via her blog and turned it over to her readers to do the same.
Most of you have been here before. You've seen my clothes, accessories, pairings. You come back to see what I'll belt each week. I've learned. I'm learning. How to pair pieces differently. How to accessorize for a different look. How to hide the parts of me I want to change.
My girls watch me each morning. They ask questions. Smile. Comment. It's funny to watch them dig through their own drawers and closets for new pairings.
We wear what we love- we love what we wear.
Breadwinner laughs at us.
This week- we share together.
Friday, August 19th- Little Sister's 3rd Birthday. Happy Birthday, my Monster!
Little Sister- Stripe fishy top- Gymboree, green ruffled skirt-Crazy8, Birthday crown headband-Aunt Kimberly last birthday
Big Sister-Fishy tank and shorts-Carter's
Monday, August 22nd- First day of School! Big Sister started Kindergarten. Our new school year began at Wayside Preschool and Kindergarten (I work as the Marketing Director and Project Manager-aka- go to gal) and Little Sister moved up to the 3/4 year old class. Big Day!
Big Sister-Blue and white gingham stripe dress-Carter's, red heart flats-Mega Gymboree clearance, Tinkerbell backpack-Toys R Us
Ruffled button down, knit, black pencil skirt-NY&Co, Black rouched sleeve crop sweater (wow- can we get another descriptive word?!)-Belk, rosette earrings-Pink Lemonade
Do you own a pencil skirt? No? Run, seriously RUN to the nearest store and buy one. They are flattering on ALL body types. I may wear one every day for the rest of my life...OK, that's a bit dramatic....or is it?
Bloom belt- The Pleated Poppy, Ruffled peep toe pumps-DSW
Tuesday, August 23- School day 2. This outfit came together a few weeks ago, then I realized I needed to be climbing ladders and cleaning all day, so it wasn't going to work. Today- perfect....except it ended up being 104.5 degrees today! It's tough to tell, but this green dress has a tiny polka dot pattern. Stripes and polka dots- mixing patterns. Check
Sweater and dress that need more wear time-pulling from the back of the closet-Check
Two weeks worth of Lindsey's challenges in one! *wink*
Oh- and I got a haircut. Did you notice?
wearing this drapey sweater as a wrap made me fall in love with it again.
gray and pink sweater-American Eagle, Green sundress-JCrew gift from ShopGal
Camel belt-Target, Pink and red flower shoes-SteinMart in FL-another pull from the back of the closet
***
Falling in love with my clothes again is so fun! I recommend stepping out of your clothing comfort zone and trying something new. New color combinations, new clothing pairings- wear a skirt as a top, a dress as a skirt, a drapey sweater as a wrap. It's fun (and it won't hurt- I promise!)
See you next week!

So cute! I thought the sweater & green looked adorable yesterday when we saw you! That green is one of my fav colors. Your first day of school outfit is crazy cute! The bloom belt on you is adorable. And, of course.. love the new hair cut.
The little ladies look adorable as well.
