Summer Guests: What's Happening with Shellsea

Well, I did it.
I survived my VERY first handmade market.
Recaps on Sew Funky, TONS of new products, and a shop sale are coming (as in check back tomorrow and Wednesday!) but for today-
another Fairly Fabulous Summer Guest Blogger-Shellsea from Hunnel Happenings!
***

I’m so excited to post for Meagan today. I first “met” Meagan through her What I Wore Wednesday posts and it’s pretty clear she is fabulous! I can’t wait to see what she’s been sewin’ up for the upcoming markets.
A little about me, I post over at Hunnel Happenings about my fashion attempts and family. Today, I’m going to talk about giving a bookcase a new face and home! Inspired by Meagan’s projects here and here. My bookcase make-over isn’t on the same level, but it totally worked for me. This bookcase was sitting in my classroom behind my desk holding books.
One year ago I stopped teaching to be a stay at home mom to Little C, since then this bookcase has been in my garage and posted on Craig’s List. Lucky for me it didn’t sell. I decided to get some spray paint and turn this brown bookcase into white to match Little C’s room.

The new bookcase goes perfectly in Little C’s room and I was able to put a lot more books in his room. The Red Wagon book was a gift from his Little Red Wagon birthday party, Eric Carle is a favorite author of mine, and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom is a classic! Hope you enjoyed reading about my adventures in making over furniture!

A big thank you to Meagan for having me on her blog!

Nice job on the bookshelf, Shellsea! Of course, I'm loving the rainbow arrangement of your books. ;)
Be sure to stop by Shellsea's growing blog and see her latest happenings.
Tell her Meagan sent you.

Isn't it fun when you can 'save' something you were going to throw and have it become a new 'treasure'? Just a little effort, time, and vision and there it is. What a lovely bookcase for your son.
