Today's Questions

Hi-ya, friends!
Ready for today's questions?
How do you store and organize your fabric? And scraps?
Do you keep scraps? How big does a scrap have to be to keep it?
Remember-the authors of  my favorite suggestions to each question will earn features on my blog- and, as always-the satisfaction of knowing you helped a friend in need from losing her mind in madness!
Hugs.

I'll be completely honest, mine get thrown in a bag in my closet. It's not that I don't care, I just don't have the extra space (yet) to create a crafty hidey hole for my crafty crafts. However, I keep just about all my scraps except those that can't be sown into anything that would make sense (unless they'd be good for patches). I plan on making a big scrap-work quilt with them when I get enough. I've always wanted to but until recently couldn't keep scraps from disappearing...

I fold my fabric like this: http://www.polishthestars.com/2010/07/organizing-fabric.html

It keeps it all nice and neat. I also keep most scraps and just fold them into a smaller pile next to the large pieces. It usually has to be at least 3x12" for me to keep it.

I fold scraps and put them in a drawer in a plastic organizer in my dining room. Fancy, I know! A scrap has to be pretty large for me to keep it but that's because I'm not very creative with leftovers. I bet you could think of crafty things to do with small scraps. You probably need several drawers, one per size range.

I have a basket that I keep mine in...not very helpful, I know. The real reason I'm here is: I've given you the sunshine award, check out how to accept it here: http://sweetteaserendipity.blogspot.com/2011/06/pocketful-of-sunshine.html

Do you really want to know??? Sadly, it's all in bins which are stuffed any place that they will fit. I'm a horrible fabric hoarder, and I need to start giving it away. I have held on to stuff for over 15 years!!! Lets face it, I'm never going to use the stuff. :)

I don't sew, thus I don't really have any fabric that I keep. But, back when I used to teach I kept all kinds of fabric, felt, anything for projects. I organized mine in one of those tall rubbermaid shelving units with pull out drawers. I put everything in a drawer based on color. I find color coding is more appeasing to the eye and easier to find for projects. Don't know if that helps!
