Tackle it Tuesday

The Ultimate Blog Party is in full swing and a twinge of guilt is settling in here at Fairly Fabulous. Shortly after I found the UBP'11, something big happened at our house. A not so great big thing that has been consuming our thoughts and prayers. An all consuming thing that prevented me from doing much 'partying' with other bloggers.
Before you worry too much-we are all fine-healthy (other than the standard end of cold season coughs and sniffles) and safe. We do, however have some pretty big decisions to make in the not too distant future. Sorry for being so cryptic-full details to come *soon*. Scouts honor.
Now it's 4am in the Southern California desert and sleep she is escaping me. After 2 1/2 hours of trying to find her again- I gave up and settled in with my trusty laptop to catch up.
Tackle it Tuesday is up at UBP'11 and boy is my laundry list long!
For the sake of time (After all- if you are partying- you can't stay long) I will tickle you with two of my latest tackles. This monstrosity is sucking every extra second of my free time.
An IKEA bookshelf that found it's way into our living room in the big move. This honey colored shelf used to live in our office and was the chosen BOOK holder purely because of it's Clearance price tag. Since our {temporary} relocation provided 1,200 extra square feet to fill- the Clearance honey shelf did a little relo, too. Back to present time-after Christmas I threw frames and such back on haphazardly- don't let that fool you into thinking this shelf was ever anything but a catch all.
With the backing falling off, and the shelves half painted- this gal is in need of a major make-over. Her transformation is just about complete and taking MUCH more time than I anticipated.
And then there's this little guy
Another IKEA piece from our old house. Used as a side table to the sofa, this little box used to have a matching partner and low tv stand. It's friends have been repurposed or ditched- leaving a lonely, empty square...or a blank canvas. (muahh ah ahhh)
These two tackles are almost complete, then it's on to the rest of the living room. Whew, I'm getting tired just thinking about it- could be the lack of sleep and wee small hour- it must be late- when was the last time you heard 'wee small hour'? Good Night. Good Morning.
The End.

I have GOT to get to Ikea (90 minutes away?), all these lovely tackles are showcasing lovely Ikeaness and I am jealous. The shelf is lovely by the way.

I love IKEA's stuff!!!! It's amazingly simple! (I'm not getting paid to advertise for them...though, some to think of it, I probably should!) Feel free to stop by sometime over at LYLAS! : )

Heehee, I love IKEA too. I have a few pieces at home; they're hard to come by where I'm from, which is all the way in Manila, the sunny Philippines! Have you been here? If not, check out my blog. I've been living here the past 16 years now!

I hope you'll follow me, too (I am your newest follower, as of this comment.)
